Is Your Website Ready for 2027? Twelve Questions to Test Yourself
Not a trend list, but twelve concrete checkpoints. Anyone answering ten of them with yes does not need to worry about next year.

Trend lists appear everywhere towards the end of the year. Most of them are not actionable for small businesses. A sober stock take is more useful. Twelve questions, answered honestly.
Technology
1. Does your homepage load in under three seconds, on a phone, without wifi?
2. Is the largest image on your homepage smaller than 300 kilobytes?
3. Does nothing jump around in the layout while loading?
4. Does your contact form work, tested within the last four weeks?
Findability
5. Is your service area on the homepage, visible, with town names spelled out?
6. Is your Google Business Profile complete and has it been touched in the last three months?
7. Does your website answer the five most common customer questions in three or four clear sentences each?
8. Are name, address and phone number identical across all directories?
Trust and law
9. Is there a visible phone number someone answers, and is it tappable on a phone?
10. Are there real reviews with names on the site?
11. Is your privacy policy current, including every embedded service?
12. Do the domain, hosting and Google accounts demonstrably belong to you?
Ten out of twelve is enough. There is no perfect website, but there is one with no open building sites left.
What to do if it is fewer than ten
Sort not by effort but by consequence. A broken contact form and a domain owned by someone else are emergencies. A missing blog post is not.
Points 4, 9 and 12 together cost an hour and prevent the most expensive surprises. That is a good place to start.
If you would rather go through the list together, we will do it with no obligation and tell you honestly which of it is genuinely urgent for you.
